Let G be a finite group. The question of how certain arithmetical conditions on the degrees of the irreducible characters of G influence the group, was studied by several authors. This paper considers some arithmetical conditions on the set \(\Theta (G)=\{| G| /\chi (1)\); \(\chi\in Irr(G)\}\) and studies their influence on the group structure. Here Irr(G) is the set of all ordinary irreducible characters of G. The results are then compared to analogous ones obtained with respect to character degrees and conjugacy class lengths. Examples of results obtained are: 1. If \(| G| /\chi (1)\) is a prime power for some \(\chi\in Irr(G)\) then G is not a nonabelian simple group. 2. If all the numbers in \(\Theta\) (G) are squarefree then G is supersolvable with derived length at most two.
