A theorem on generating functions and its applications (Q1120035)

Motivated by several recently demonstrated applications of a theorem on generating functions in (for example) the derivation of a number of interesting expansions for the generalized hypergeometric \({}_ rF_ s\) function in series of Bessel functions [see \textit{H. M. Srivastava} and \textit{R. M. Shreshtha}, Q. Appl. Math. 46, No. 3, 451--458 (1988; Zbl 0636.33004)], the author presents here a generalization of the theorem and briefly indicates how the general result and its several consequences can also be applied in various directions.
