It is proved that in a locally compact alternative or Jordan ring with a unit and without zero divisors the operations of quasi-inversion and inversion are continuous. In particular, any locally compact ring topology of an alternative or Jordan division ring is the topology of the skew field. Any locally compact Jordan ring which does not contain its own closed quadratic ideals is a quasi-regular ring or a topological Jordan division ring.
