General solution to random advective-dispersive equation in porous media. I: Stochasticity in the sources and in the boundaries (Q1121737)

The article presents the general applications of functional-analytic theory to the solution of the partial differential equation describing solid transport in acquifers. Here, either the evolution of the system, the sources, the parameters and/or the boundary conditions are prescribed as stochastic processes in time or in space. The procedure of the paper does not require the usual restricting assumptions. The relevant results of the functional-analytic theory is summarized. Several particular cases are worked out. The final results are graphically presented. The mathematical steps are very concise, while the descriptic parts are done elaborately. The paper and results are useful for practising engineers, even though mathematical jargons are too much.
