[For Part I see J. Reine Angew. Math. 342, 12-34 (1983; Zbl 0503.18009).] Let \(A\to B\) be a map of Q-algebras and let I be an ideal of A such that \(I\cong BIB\). The ``KABI conjecture'' is the conjecture that there is an isomorphism from double relative K-theory \(K_ i(A,B,I)\) to double relative cyclic homology \(HC_{i-1}(A,B,I)\). The authors show that there is a surjection from \(K_ 2(A,B,I)\) to \(HC_ 1(A,B,I)\). They also reformulate the conjecture in various ways related to the polynomial rings A[t], B[t].
