V. Neumann, Ulam, Oxtoby and Prasad gave necessary and sufficient conditions under which a Borel probability measure on \([0,1]^{\alpha}\) for countable \(\alpha\) is mapped to the power Lebesgue measure on \([0,1]^{\alpha}\) by a homeomorphism of [0,1]. Choksi, in trying to extend these results to \([0,1]^{\Gamma}\) for uncountable \(\Gamma\), asked the following problem: If \(\nu\) is a Radon probability measure on \([0,1]^{\Gamma}\), \(\Gamma\) uncountable, which is (i) of full support, (ii) homogeneous of type \(| \Gamma |\), (iii) completion regular, and (iv) has a strong lifting, is it then homeomorphic to the power Lebesgue measure? [See \textit{J. R. Choksi}, Contemp. Math. 26, 81-94 (1984; Zbl 0538.28008).] The main result of this paper (Theorem 3') decides this problem to the negative under the assumption of the continuum hypothesis. The construction is based on a numerical condition for a measure homogeneous to the power Lebesgue measure. It is left an open question whether the answer is yes under the assumption of Martin's axiom plus the negation of the continuum hypothesis.
