The aim of this paper is to study steady electromagneto-gas dynamic plane orthogonal flows when the charge density is not identically zero. No work for these compressible flows seems to have been done thus far. In this study, the magnetic field \({\mathbb{H}}\) is assumed to lie in the plane of flow and to be everywhere perpendicular to the velocity field \({\mathbb{V}}\) (orthogonal flows) so that \({\mathbb{H}}={\mathbb{K}}\times f\rho {\mathbb{V}}\) where f is an arbitrary function, \({\mathbb{K}}\) is the unit vector normal to the flow plane and \(\rho\) is the density function. This work is carried out by employing a well established fluid-dynamical technique of establishing integrability conditions for scalar fields. The plan of this work is as follows: In Section 2 we recapilutate the basic equations governing steady motion of two dimensional electromagneto-gas dynamic flows when the charge density is not identically zero. Section 3 contains the derivation of integrability conditions and discusses the approach for solving flow problems. In Sections 4 and 5, solutions to flow problems are obtained and admissible flow patterns for isometric geometry are investigated as applications of the integrability conditions.
