First Kechris and Louveau and then Debs and Saint Raymond each gave a Borel basis of the class \(U_ 0\) of sets of uniqueness in the wide sense. In this paper the author shows that these two bases are in fact the same and he does not only give a simpler proof that \(U_ 0'\) is indeed a basis but also unifies the theory with that for U-sets and \(U_ 1\)-sets. The author further gives some extensions of these theorems to map between Banach spaces to develop the theory of a new class of sets, \(U_ 2\), which lies strictly between the \(U_ 1\)-sets and the \(U_ 0\)- sets. He establishes the equivalence of the two definitions of \(U_ 2'\) and clarifies their relations to the other type of sets of uniqueness which allows him to answer some previously open questions. In the end of this paper the author proves some theorems on Banach spaces on further generalization to polar sets and even to conjugate convex functions.
