On the D-suitability of implicit Runge-Kutta methods (Q1123560)

Implicit Runge-Kutta methods require the solution of a system of nonlinear equations. Using the condition of monotonicity several authors have given sufficient conditions for the existence of a unique solution of these nonlinear equations. In this paper the authors generalize this monotonicity condition proving also existence and uniqueness of a solution. Two examples are given where the previous results are not applicable.
