The author gives several uniqueness and non-uniqueness results for minimal surfaces. Specially it is shown that for a \(C^ 2\)-Jordan curve on the boundary of a domain M with positive mean curvature, where \(\partial M\) is homeomorphic to \(S^ 2\), either there exists a unique, stable, embedded minimal disk bounded by \(\Gamma\) or there exist ``top'' and ``bottom'' solutions.
