Asymptotic distribution of the spectra of a class of generalized Kac-Murdock-Szegö matrices (Q1124902)

The author gives the asymptotic distribution of the spectrum of a generalized Kac-Murdock-Szegö matrix \(T\) of the order \(n\to\infty\) with entries \(t_{ij}= \alpha r^{|i-j |}+ \beta/r^{|i-j|}\), where \(\alpha\) and \(\beta\) are real and \(0<r<1\).
