    Let \(\sum^\infty_{n=1} B_n(x)\) be the series conjugate to the Fourier series of \(f\in L^1_{2\pi}\) at a point \(x\) and let, for a constant \(l\), \[ \Psi_x(t)= \int^t_0|f(x+ u)+ f(x- u)- l|du. \] A sequence \((s_n)\) is said to be summable \((N,p_n,q_n)\) to \(s\) if \[ (1/R_n) \sum^n_{k=0} p_{n-k} q_ks_k\to s,\quad\text{as }n\to \infty, \] where \(R_n= \sum^n_{k=0} p_{n-k} q_k\neq 0\) \((n\geq 0)\) for any sequences \((p_n)\) and \((q_n)\). The method \((N,p_n,q_n)(C,1)\) is obtained by superimposing the method \((N,p_n,q_n)\) on the \((C,1)\) method. Generalizing a result due to \textit{S. P. Khare} and \textit{V. K. Tripathi} [Bull. Calcutta Math. Soc. 80, No. 3, 217-222 (1988; Zbl 0647.42004)], the authors have proved the following Theorem: Let \((N,p_n,q_n)\) be a regular Nörlund method defined by a nonnegative, nonincreasing sequence \((p_n)\) and a nonnegative, nondecreasing sequence \((q_n)\) and let \[ \int^\delta_{\pi/n} \Psi_x(t)\Biggl|{d\over dt} \{t^{-1} R_n(\pi/t)\}\Biggr|dt= o(R_n),\quad\text{as }n\to\infty, \] hold for \(0< \delta<\pi\). Then the sequence \((n B_n(x))\) is \((N,p_n, q_n)(C,1)\)-summable to \(l/\pi\), where \(R_n(t)= \int^t_0 r_n(u) du\), and \(r_n(u)= p_k q_{n- k}\) for \(k\leq u< k+1\) \((k= 0,1,\dots, n)\). Remark. The condition that \((N,p_n,q_n)\) be regular is superfluous since its regularity follows from the conditions imposed upon the sequences \((p_n)\) and \((q_n)\).
