Equivalence of the Gelfand-Shilov spaces (Q1125854)

The relations between the Gelfand-Shilov spaces of generalized type \(S\) and of type \(W\) which were introduced by I. M. Gelfand and G. E. Shilov are investigated. Although the Gelfand-Shilov spaces of generalized type \(S\) are defined by means of the positive sequences \(M_p\) and \(N_p\) and the spaces of type \(W\) are defined by means of the weight function \(M(x)\)and \(\Omega (y)\), it is shown that the class of the spaces of type \(W\) is exactly the same as a class of the spaces of generalized type \(S\).
