Convex orderings in affine root systems. II (Q1125873)

The study of convex orderings in root systems started in the author's former paper [\textit{P. Papi}, Proc. Am. Math. Soc. 120, 661-665 (1994; Zbl 0799.20037)]. Clearly, it is associated with the PBW-bases for quantized enveloping algebras. In this paper, in the finite case, a combinatorial characterization of reflections, longest elements in standard parabolic subgroups of the Weyl group of the root system, and of Coxeter elements has been obtained. In the affine case, the author gives the classification of the infinite periodic compatible sets. The results of this paper complete and develop the results given by the author earlier [\textit{P. Papi}, J. Algebra 172, 613-623 (1995; Zbl 0848.17017); Commun. Algebra 22, 4089-4094 (1994; Zbl 0803.05057)].
