A complex-valued continuous function defined on \(\mathbb{R}\) is said to be strictly positive definite on \(\mathbb{R}\) if the \(n\) by \(n\) matrix \((f(x_i- x_j))\) is positive definite for all choices of pairwise distinct points \(x_1,x_2,\dots,x_n\in\mathbb{R}\), and all \(n\geq 1\). The following result is obtained: Let \(\mu\) be a nonzero, finite Borel measure on \(\mathbb{R}\) such that its carrier is not a discrete set. Then, the generalized Fourier transform of \(\mu\) is strictly positive definite on \(\mathbb{R}\). The definition of the carrier of a Borel measure \(\mu\) is \(\Omega=\mathbb{R}\backslash\bigcup\{0:0\text{ is open and }\mu(0)= 0\}\). Some results related to almost periodic functions are also included.
