The author discusses a straightforward method to attack the problem of statistical distribution of deterministic sequences based on trace formulae. The relation between statistical properties of energy eigenvalues of deterministic systems and the distribution of periodic orbits is considered. Using the straightforward method the author finds a relation between diagonal and off-diagonal terms.
