The partial differential equation describing the dispersive transport in porous media belongs to confluent hypergeometric equations. By using a change of variables and Laplace transform, we reduce this equation to the Weber equation and express its solution through parabolic cylinder functions. We find then an analytic solution of the original equation by analytic inversion. Besides, we obtain the early-time and late-time approximate solutions. We compare these solutions and investigate the concentration distribution and concentration change.
