The paper deals with the Darcy system consisting of the equation of momentum, the equation of continuity and the balance of energy equation. In case that the equation of momentum is modified to include an effective viscosity term, one obtains the Brinkman equations. The authors first show that in the case of the Dirichlet initial boundary value problem for the Brinkman equation, the solution depends continuously on the viscous coefficient. Then the convergence of the solution of this problem to the solution of an analogous problem for the Darcy equations is established. Finally one investigates the continuous dependence of the solution on an interfacial parameter when a Stokes flow occurs in a domain which also includes a porous medium. The continuous dependence holds for the Stokes flow and the analogous Navier-Stokes situation is also discussed.
