The authors consider the block decoupling problem for linear multivariable systems under unity-feedback configuration. In the presence of unstable pole-zero coincidence, necessary and sufficient conditions for decoupling with stability are obtained; they assure that the interpolation equations arising from stability requirements have a solution under block decoupling constraints.
