In previous papers [Ann. der Physik, VII. F. 33, No. 1, 6--20 (1976); 34, No. 6, 477--484 (1977)] the author described a Lorentz covariant theory of gravitation. In this theory a particle is characterized by four space-time coordinates and an antisymmetric tensor. These ten quantities are canonically conjugated to the momentum \(P_{\alpha\beta}\)and spin \(P_{\alpha\beta}\). The motion of a particle in the gravitational field of the potentials \(g_{\alpha\beta}\) is given by a Lagrangian \[ LM= -\rho g^{\alpha\beta} \frac{P_\alpha}{m_0}\frac{P_\beta}{m_0} \] where \(\rho\) is the density of matter and \(m_0\) the rest mass of the particle. In the present paper the author proposes a modification of the above Lagrangian, aiming to obtain simpler field equations. To compare with general relativity an approximate solution of a test particle in a static spherically symmetric field \(g_{\alpha\beta}\) is considered. For this purpose, harmonic coordinates in general relativity are used.
