    Let \(A\) be a subset of a Banach space \(X\). The Kolmogorov diameter of order \(n\) of \(A\) in \(X\) is \(d_ n(A,X)=\inf \rho(A,F)\), where the infimum is over all \(n\)-dimensional subspaces \(F\) of \(X\) and \(\rho(A,F)=\sup_{x\in A} \inf_{y\in F}\| x-y\|\). The absolute diameter of order \(n\) of \(A\) in \(X\) is \(D_ n(A,X)=\inf d_ n(A,Y)\) where the infimum is over all Banach spaces \(Y\) containing \(X\). For \(1\leq q\leq\infty\), \(r\geq 0\) and \(m=1,2,3,\dots,\) let \(B\ell_ q^ m\) be the unit ball in \(\ell_ q^ m\) and \(W_ q^ r(Q)\) the Sobolev space of order \(r\) on a cube \(Q\). The paper is concerned with estimates of \(D_ n(B\ell_ p^ m,\ell_ q^ m)\) and \(D_ n(W_ q^ r(Q),L_ q(Q))\). For example, if \(1\leq q\leq p\leq\infty\) and \(n<m\), then \(D_ n(B\ell_ p^ m,\ell_ q^ m)=d_ n(B\ell_ p^ m,\ell_ q^ m)=(m-n)^{{1\over q}-{1\over p}}\). On the other hand, when \(p<q\) numbers \(k_ 1\), \(k_ 2\) are provided for which \(k_ 1\leq D_ n(B\ell_ p^ m,\ell_ q^ m)\leq k_ 2\). Proofs are not provided.
