Paper continues part I [ibid. 5, 175-208 (1989; Zbl 0698.73050)] where triangular plane facet elements were derived and shown to be convergent for arbitrary thin shells. In part II as a sixth degree of freedom the rotation around the normal is introduced in order to facilitate the kinematical transition conditions (compatibility) between adjacent facets. It is connected with a fictitious stiffness whose lower admissible value is evaluated. ``Pseudo-convergence'' of the method is proved for sufficiently shallow shells. A modification of the bending terms leads to an unconditionally convergent approximation for arbitrary thin shells.
