A variational approach to approximation of delay systems (Q1174550)

A variational version of Trotter-Kato theorem in semigroup theory is presented. It allows to unify many results on the convergence of approximation schemes for delay systems already proved by various authors (see the references). Moreover, as the authors point out, the present result fits for different situations as, for example, the approximation of size structured population models.
