Let \(X\) be a Hausdorff topological space, \(S\) be a subset of \(X\) and \({\mathcal A}=\{A_ 1\supset A_ 2\supset\cdots\}\) be a decreasing sequence of nonvoid sets in \(X\). The ``sequential cluster set'' \(C({\mathcal A},S)\) is defined as the set of all \(y\in S\), which are cluster points of sequences \(\{y_ n\}\), being eventually in any \(A_ k\) from \(\mathcal A\). In the paper some compactness properties of this set are investigated. These results are further used to prove some theorems concerning boundaries of upper semicontinuous multi-valued maps (especially the map \(\text{Frac }F\) introduced by Dolecki). Also extension of the initial set-valued function to a compact-valued function is solved using this technique. The last two sections deal with countably determined spaces and cosmic spaces.
