Distributional control and generalized analyticity (Q1175040)

The authors continue their previous investigations of the representations of locally compact abelian groups in \(L^ p(\mu)\) where \(\mu\) is an arbitrary measure [see references of the paper under review]. In the present paper the authors prove necessary and sufficient conditions for a strongly continuous representation to be uniformly bounded and, from this, they give conditions for the a.e. convergence of a class of sequences of convolution operators. In the second part, several examples illustrate that the results of the paper include as special cases many known results about ergodic theory, ergodic singular integral operators and ergodic Hardy spaces.
