We show how to insert a continuum of additional terms (defined by an integral and depending on an arbitrary positive parameter) between the two sides of the generalized arithmetic-geometric mean inequality with weights. Applications give an inequality involving positive definite matrices and also a refinement of the inequality connecting the inscribed and circumscribed radii of a triangle. (Author) The author interpolates the inequality between the geometric and the arithmetic mean as follows: \[ \prod^ n_{j=1}a^{q_ j}_ j\leq\left(p\int^ \infty_ 0\left(\prod^ n_{g=1}(x+a_ j)^{q_ j} \right)^{-p-1}dx\right)^{-1/p}\leq\sum^ n_{j=1} q_ ja_ j \] \((n\in\mathbb{N}\); \(a_ j>0\), \(q_ j>0\); \(j-1,\dots,n\); \(\sum^ n_{j=1} q_ j=1)\) with equality on both ends iff \(a_ 1=\cdots=a_ n\). Matrix and geometric inequalities are presented as applications.
