Let \(L(\nabla)\) be an elliptic selfadjoint differential operator of oder \(2m\). Let us consider the Dirichlet problem \[ L(\nabla)u(x)=f(x), \quad x\in\Omega,\quad \nabla^ ku(x)=0, \quad x\in\partial\Omega, \quad k=0,\ldots,m-1, \leqno (1) \] where \(\nabla=(\partial/\partial x_ 1,\partial/\partial x_ 2)\), \(\nabla^ ku\) denotes the set of all derivatives of order \(k\) of components of the vector function \(u=(u_ 1,\ldots,u_ T)\). The set \(\Omega\subset\mathbb{R}^ 2\) is unbounded, the boundary \(\partial\Omega\) is given as a graph of a periodic function. The purpose of this paper is to prove existence of the solution of (1) in an appropriate function space and to study the asymptotic behaviour of the solution at infinity.
