General \(B\)-spline Hermite interpolation (Q1175518)

In some computer aided design applications, an occasional cusp or curvature jump may prescribe discontinuous derivatives. Therefore this paper presents a formula for the coefficients of the B-spline function of degree \(2m+1\). The values of this function and its derivatives (possible distinct one-sided) of orders \(1,\ldots,m\) are given at the knots. The new formula is a generalization of \textit{M. S. Mummy}'s formula [ibid. 6, No. 2, 177-179 (1989; Zbl 0671.65007)].
