The present author and \textit{H. J. Munkholm} [Boundedly controlled topology. Berlin etc.: Springer-Verlag (1988; Zbl 0646.57001)]\ have introduced the concepts of boundedness control space \(Z\) as well as that of a \(CW\)-complex \((X,p)\) boundedly controlled over \(Z\) by means of a map \(p\colon X\to Z\). This leads to a category of modules over \(\mathbb{Z}{\mathcal P}G_1(X,p)\), written \({\mathcal A}\), and corresponding algebraic \(K\)-groups by classical methods [see \textit{H. Bass}, 'Algebraic \(K\)-theory. New York etc.: W. A. Benjamin (1968; Zbl 0174.30302)]. A specific boundedly controlled Whitehead group \(Wh^{bc}(X,p)\) is defined. The present paper offers some theorems on the nature of the map from the \(K\)-groups to \(Wh^{bc}\), as well as a calculation of the groups in certain cases. The specific case of an open cone is analyzed most thoroughly. The details are much too complex to be summarized here.
