    The paper deals with the asymptotic behaviour of a solution \((w,p)\) of the equations \(-\nu\Delta w+(w\cdot\nabla)w=-\nabla p\) in \(\Omega\), \(\nabla\cdot w=0\) in \(\Omega\), \(w=0\) on \(\partial\Omega\), \(w(x,y)\to w_ \infty\) at infinity in \(\Omega\). Here \(\Omega\) is an exterior domain, \(\Omega=R^ 2-K\), where \(K\) is a compact set with smooth boundary, \(w=(u,v)\) is a vector field, \(\nu=1\), \(w_ \infty=(1,0)\) after a suitable rotation and scaling of variables. The main result is the asymptotic behaviour \[ | w(x,y)-(1,0)| =O(r^{- 1/4+\varepsilon}),\quad| v(x,y)| =O(r^{-3/4+\varepsilon}). \]
