A ring \(R\) is said to be compressible if for each idempotent \(e\) of \(R\), \(Z(eRe)=eZ(R)\), where \(Z(\;)\) denotes the center of a ring. For a semiprime ring this condition is equivalent to the condition: For every idempotent \(e\) and every bimodule homomorphism \(f\) of \(AeA\) to \(A\), \(f\) can be extended to \(A\). Finally \(A\) is said to be strongly compressible if this latter condition holds, when \(AeA\) is replaced by a twosided ideal. The author shows that the skew group ring \(A*G\) is strongly compressible provided \(G\) is a finite group of X-outer automorphisms and \(A\) is a semiprime strongly compressible ring. It is shown by an example that in the above \(G\) X-outer can't be replaced by \(| G|\) is a unit. Finally it is shown that if \(A\) is compressible \(G\) is X-outer with \(| G|^{-1}\in A\), then \(A^ G\) is compressible.
