    The author treats here a time dependent Schrödinger equation for quantum particles in a classical external electro-magnetic field: \[ ih(\partial u/\partial t)=H(t,h)u=(H_ 0(t,h)+V(t,x))u,\quad t\in\mathbb{R}^ 1, x\in\mathbb{R}^ n \leqno (1) \] where \(H_ 0(t,h)=\sum^ n_{j=1}({1\over 2})(-ih(\partial/\partial x_ j)-A_ j(t,x))^ 2\). He establishes the existence and uniqueness theorems of unitary propagators (fundamental solutions) \(\{U(t,s,h)\), \(t,s\in\mathbb{R}^ 1\}\) in \(\mathbb{H}=\mathbb{L}^ 2(\mathbb{R}^ n)\), and examines the regularity properties of \(U(\centerdot,\centerdot,h)\), \(ih\partial_ tU(\centerdot,s,h)f =H(\centerdot,h) U(\centerdot,s,h)f\) and \(ih\partial_ sU(\centerdot,s,h)f=-U(\centerdot,s,h)H(s,h)f\). His theorems are given under some assumptions on the regularity of \(A_ j(t,x)\), \(j=1,2,\ldots,n\), \(B_{jk}(t,x)=(\partial A_ k/\partial x_ j- \partial A_ j/\partial x_ k)(t,x)\) and \(V(t,x)\). He shows the smoothing property of the propagator \(U_ 0(t,s,h)\) expressed in the form of oscillatory integral operators and proves his theorems through the integral equation \[ u(t)=U_ 0(t,s,h)f-ih^{-1}\int^ t_ sU_ 0(t,r,h)V(r)u(r)dr \] equivalent to the equation (1).
