The author studies the existence and uniqueness of a solution of the Dirichlet problem with \(L^ p\) \((p>1)\) boundary data in \(C^{1,Dini}\) domains. The solution is found in the spaces \(W^{1,p}_{loc}\cap L^ p\). A major difficulty in this study is the existence of a trace for the elements of these spaces satisfying the partial differential equation. Section 2 of the paper is concerned with the definition of a trace for these functions, which is used in Section 3 to solve the Dirichlet problem. The main tool of the proof is an energy estimate. As mentioned by the author, certain important elements of the analysis carried out in the work are present in the paper of \textit{I. M. Petrushko} [Mat. Sb., Nov. Ser. 120(162), No. 4, 569-588 (1983); Engl. translation in Math. USSR, Sb. 48, 565-585 (1984; Zbl 0525.35039)]. However, Petrushko's paper deals with \(C^{1,\alpha}\) domains.
