The renormalized nonlinear elliptic equation \(u\in H^ 1_ 0(\Omega)\), \[ \text{div}(h(u)A\text{grad}u)+ h'(u)A\text{grad}u\text{grad}u\text{div}(h(u) \Phi(u))+h'(u) \Phi(u) \text{grad}u=fh(u) \] in \({\mathcal D}'(\Omega),\) \(\forall h \in C^ 1_ c(\mathbb{R})\) is considered. Here \(\Phi: \mathbb{R}\to\mathbb{R}^ N\) is a continuous function which is not assumed to satisfy any growth condition. Note that in the above formulation the test functions \(h(u)\varphi\) (depending on the solution itself) is used instead of the usual test functions \(\varphi \in{\mathcal D}(\Omega)\). Considering a sequence of renormalized solutions \(u_ \varepsilon\) corresponding to fixed functions \(f\) and \(\Phi\) and to a sequence of matrices \(A_ \varepsilon\) which converges in the homogenization sense to \(A_ 0\), the author proves that a subsequence of \(u_ \varepsilon\) converges weakly in \(H^ 1_ 0(\Omega)\) to a renormalized solution corresponding to \(f\), \(\Phi\) and \(A_ 0\). Analogously, considering a solution \(u_ \varepsilon\) corresponding to a fixed matrix \(A\), to a fixed function \(\Phi\) and to a sequence of functions \(f_ \varepsilon\) which converges weakly in \(H^{-1}(\Omega)\) to \(f_ 0\), he proves that a subsequence of \(u_ \varepsilon\) converges weakly in \(H^ 1_ 0(\Omega)\) to a renormalized solution corresponding to \(A\), \(\Phi\) and \(f_ 0\). The obtained results are variations on the subject introduced by \textit{L. Boccardo}, \textit{J. Diaz}, \textit{D. Giachetti} and the author [Pitman Res. Notes Math. Ser. 208, 229-246 (1989; Zbl 0703.35063)].
