We compute a set of generators of the ring of invariants for a set of straight lines in 3-dimensional projective space, using the symbolic method introduced by \textit{F. Grosshans}, \textit{G.-C. Rota}, and \textit{J. A. Stein} [Invariant theory and superalgebras, Reg. Conf. Ser. Math. 69, XXI (1987; Zbl 0648.15020)]. A geometric interpretation of the invariants is given.
