    We are concerned with the Cauchy problem for a linear hyperbolic \((n\times n)\)-system \[ \partial_ t U=\sum_{j=1}^ m A_ j(x,t)\partial_ j U+B(x,t)U+F(x,t), \qquad (x,t)\in\mathbb{R}^{m+1},\tag{1} \] \(U(x,0)=G(x)\), \(x\in\mathbb{R}^ m\), where \(x=(x_ 1,\dots,x_ m)\in\mathbb{R}^ m\), \(t\in\mathbb{R}\), \(\partial_ j=\partial/\partial x_ j\), \(U=(U_ 1,\dots,U_ n)\) is real valued, \(A_ j\) and \(B\) are real valued \((n\times n)\) matrices with \(A_ j\) symmetric. In this article we continue the study of generalized solutions in the Colombeau algebra \({\mathcal G}(\mathbb{R}^{m+1})\), in which system (1) is allowed to have coefficients in \({\mathcal G}(\mathbb{R}^{m+1})\) and initial data belonging to \({\mathcal G}(\mathbb{R}^ m)\).
