Fuzzy logic in development of fundamentals of pattern recognition (Q1178680)

The role of fuzzy logic in pattern recognition and classification is studied. Two topics are considered for the classification procedures: the cognitive perspective (formation and implementation) and the linguistic description of the class membership. Fuzzy sets and fuzzy logic for numerical and symbolic computations in classification procedures are also discussed. The role of neurocomputations and networks in relationship with pattern recognition and fuzzy logic, is clarified. Illustrations are given.
