Modified Newton iterative method for solving system of nonlinear equations (Q1179063)

The author re-discovered --- without referencing any relevant literature --- the basic versions of, what are generally called, the Jacobi-Newton and Gauss-Seidel-Newton methods. These processes are known at least for some thirty years and have been studied by numerous authors. For a brief history and also some theoretical background, see, e.g., \textit{J. M.
