The author shows that if the generalized Riemann hypothesis is true, then a sufficiently large odd \(N\) can be written as \(N=p_ 1+p_ 2+p_ 3\), where \(p_ 1\), \(p_ 2\), \(p_ 3\) are odd primes with \(p_ i=N/3+O(N^{1/2}(\log N)^{7+\varepsilon})\). The proof uses the circle method together with estimates for \(\psi(x,\chi)\) that are derived from GRH.
