A (possibly nonorientable) surface \(S\) is called area minimizing mod 2 if the area of each compact piece of \(S\) is not larger than the area of any other surfaces (orientable or not) having the same boundary as this compact piece. In the present paper the asymptotic behavior of complete area minimizing mod 2 surfaces in \(\mathbb{R}^ n\) is investigated. The main results are as follows. Outside of some big ball any such surface \(S\) decomposes into \(m\leq n/2\) minimal graphs defined over suitable exterior domains in \(m\)-mutually orthogonal 2-planes of \(\mathbb{R}^ n\) and the functions describing each of these graphs converge to zero at infinity. Moreover, \(S\) has finite total curvature and, consequently, \(S\) is conformally equivalent to a compact Riemann surface with finitely many punctures. The Gauss map as well as the Weierstrass data of \(S\) extend meromorphically across the punctures.
