Discontinuity waves through a linear thermo-viscoelastic solid of integral type (Q1181073)

This paper investigates the propagation of discontinuity waves of order \(N\geq 1\) through a homogeneous linear anisotropic thermo-viscoelastic solid whose heat flux depends on the past history of the temperature gradient. It is shown that the normal speeds of propagation are independent of the order of the wave. The analysis is simplified in the case of generalized longitudinal and transverse waves. For these waves, the evolution law is obtained for the discontinuities along the rays associated with the wave front.
