Designing faired parametric surfaces (Q1181975)

The paper considers a fairing approach to the shape control of surfaces. Therefore the authors compare three different constructions of a new surface from the invariants of the design surface and to use the surface areas as the fairness metric which does not depend on the particular parametrization of the surface. An example shows the effect of the method. A particular advantage for the user is the possible local application of the different smoothing techniques.
