Generalized Jacobians and rigidificators (Q1182226)

The notion of the generalized Jacobian of a complete integral curve \(X\) (over a field \(k\)) with respect to a non-trivial effective divisor \(D\) is introduced. This generalizes the concept of the generalized Jacobian such as given by Rosenlicht-Serre. --- This new generalized Jacobian has an interpretation as a rigidificator for the Jacobian.
