The star exponential and path integrals on compact groups (Q1182294)

In a recent paper the present authors in collaboration with another [\textit{C. A. Alcalde}, \textit{A. C. Cadavid}, and \textit{M. Nakashima}, Lett. Math. Phys. 22, No. 1, 15-19 (1991; Zbl 0729.58021)] constructed a path integral for SU(2) in terms of the star exponential using local coordinates. In the present work the result of the earlier work is globalized and the path integral is constructed for an arbitrary compact Lie group. A phase factor present in the earlier work is shown to be zero.
