The degree elevation- (or raising degree-) technique is commonly used to increase the flexibility of Bézier curves. In this paper a slight generalization is obtained using the difference between an \((n+1)\)th- and \(n\)th-degree curve, this difference behaving like a new Bézier curve. The algorithm is iterative, it can be applied to surfaces and has mixed applications; some graphic examples are included.
