    Given the \(n\) complex number sequences \(a(\omega\mid k)\) \((k\geq 1)\) for \(1\leq \omega \leq n\) and the sequence \(b(k)\) \((k\geq 1)\), further sequences \(A(i\mid k)\) \((k\geq 1)\) for \(1\leq i\leq n\) and \(B(k)\) \((k\geq 1)\) may be constructed by use of the single recursion \(X(k)=b(k)X(k-1)+\sum a(\omega\mid k)X(k+\omega-n-2)\) \((1\leq\omega\leq n)\) and special initial conditions \(A(i\mid -j)=\delta(i+j,n+1)\), \(B(-j)=\delta(n+j+1,n+1)\), \((1\leq i\leq n; 0\leq j\leq n)\) where \(\delta(\tau,\nu)=1\) iff \(\tau=\nu\). The \(A(i\mid k)\) and \(B(k)\) feature as numerators and common denominators of an extended continued fraction whose convergent of order \(k\) is the sequence \(A(i\mid k)/B(k)\) (\(1\leq i\leq n\)). Acceleration of the convergence of this sequence of sequences subject to conditions of the form \(\lim b(k)=\beta\) and \(\lim a(i\mid k)=\alpha(i)\) \((1\leq i\leq n)\) as \(k\to\infty\) in both cases is investigated.
