Let \(S\) be a (non-hyperelliptic) compact Riemann surface of genus \(g>2\) which is a two-sheeted ramified covering of a compact surface \(X\) of genus \(p>0\). Let \(E\) be the associated involution, i.e. \(X=S/\langle E\rangle\), and let \({\mathcal A}^ -\) be the space of \(E\) anti-invariant holomorphic differentials on \(S\). The authors study the connection between the Weierstrass points of \({\mathcal A}^ -\), i.e. vanishing points of the Wronskian for a basis of \({\mathcal A}^ -\), and the geometry of the canonical curve in \(\mathbb{P}\mathbb{C}^{g-1}\). For instance, they proved that for each pair of Weierstrass points \(Q\) and \(E(Q)\) which are (roughly speaking) not fixed point of \(E\), there is a hyperplane in \(\mathbb{P}\mathbb{C}^{g-1}\) so that the intersection number of the hyperplane and the canonical curve at \(Q\) and \(E(Q)\) are at least \(d\), respectively (Theorem 1 (\(d\))). They consider the case \(p=1\) in some detail. Furthermore, they consider the connection between these Weierstrass points and the theta divisor.
