Let \(R\) be a basic semiperfect Noetherian ring with identity. The author considers the construction of \(r\)-tilting modules in the sense of \textit{Y. Miyashita} [Math. Z. 193, 113-146 (1986; Zbl 0578.16015)]. In his theorem (4.3), Miyashita had given a construction of \(r\)-tilting modules over Artinian algebras which generalize the APR-tilting modules of \textit{M. Auslander, M. I. Platzeck} and \textit{I. Reiten} [Trans. Am. Math. Soc. 250, 1-46 (1979; Zbl 0421.16016)] (see also \textit{S. Brenner} and \textit{M. Butler} [Lect. Notes Math. 832, 103-169 (1980; Zbl 0446.16031)]). The aim of this paper is to give a (proper) generalization of Miyashita's construction. Let \(J\) denote the Jacobson radical of \(R\) and \(\overline R\) the quotient ring \(R/J\). The author proves: Theorem. Let \(e\) be a primitive idempotent of \(R\) such that (a) \(\text{Ext}^ 1_ R(\overline{Re},\overline{Re})=0\) and (b) \(\text{Ext}^ i_ R(\overline{Re},R)=0\) for \(0\leq i<r\). Then for each \(i\), \(1\leq i\leq r\), there exists a right \(R\)-module \(Y_ i\) with local endomorphism ring such that \((1-e)R\oplus Y_ i\) is an \(i\)-tilting module.
