Denoting by \({\mathcal I}'(d,g,3)\) the subscheme of the Hilbert scheme, whose general point corresponds to smooth irreducible and nondegenerate curves of degree \(d\) and genus \(g\) in \(\mathbb{P}^ 3\), it is proved that \({\mathcal I}'(d,g,3)\) is irreducible in the following cases: (i) \(d \geq g+3\), (ii) \(d=g+2\) and \(g \geq 5\), (iii) \(d=g+1\) and \(g \geq 11\). It should be pointed out that a similar result in the case of \(d \geq g+3\), \(r=3\) was also obtained by \textit{L. Ein} in Ann. Sci. Éc. Norm. Supér., IV. Sér. 19, 469-478 (1986; Zbl 0606.14003) independently (and earlier).
