Möbius reparametrizations of rational B-splines (Q1183510)

The authors prove that the reparametrization of a rational \(B\)-spline curve by means of a Möbius transformation again yields a rational \(B\)- spline curve. This shows that a contrary claim due to Farin [\textit{G. Farin}, Mathematical methods in computer aided geometric design, Pap. Int. conf., Oslo/Norw. 1988, 215-238 (1989; Zbl 0677.41012)] cannot be true in general. The proof is straightforward, using the classical divided-difference approach to \(B\)-spline-functions.
